If there is one place in Brisbane that can bring together great exhibitions, painting classes of the highest quality, and a versatile art space for both emerging and experienced artists – it is Marcel Desbiens’s studio in Bowen Hills.

The latest exhibition at the venue, titled “Painting for Peace,” showcases 52 works from 16 established and emerging artists. With works by David Hobson, David Hinchcliffe, Ai Shah, Lyn Diefenbach, and Marcel Desbiens, the studio came alive with vibrant art boasting a variety of media and subject matter. The opening event was buzzing with vibrant music, delicious food and lively conversation – and the art offered much stimulation!

The “Painting for Peace” exhibition has become a regular event at Marcel Desbiens’s studio, promoting local artists and supporting disadvantaged communities. The exhibition supports the Cambodian charity: BFT, or Build Your Future Today, that works with families and children, providing access to education and literacy, housing and sanitation support, and livelihood improvement projects.

The art studio is a discretely positioned local gem in central Brisbane, and runs regular classes in oils and drawing techniques, as well as a multitude of workshops with first class Australian artists throughout the year. With the recent expansion, it also offers a studio space for local artists and art students to work and exhibit.

If you have missed the “Painting for Peace” exhibition, you can still see it until 21st of June, and find the perfect piece for your walls!

The studio is located at 15 Nariel Street, Bowen Hills, and you can find more details at Brisbane Painting Classes.
